Zela Lillian Meher of Lake Wales passed away Friday, September 26, 2008 at The Groves Center.

Born January 6, 1927 in Croydon Surrey, England; she came here 5 years ago from Hollywood, FL. She was a retired switchboard operator for the Helmsley Hotel in New York City, NY. She was a cat lover and enjoyed shopping.

Zela was preceded by her husband, Richard Meher. Survivors include her daughters, Andrea Corey and Linda Dempsey both of Lake Wales; three granddaughters, Denise, Jenny and Carrie; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kimberly.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, Monday, September 29, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Polk County, 555 Sage Road, Winter Haven, FL 33880.
