Winifred June Felt

June Felt, “Miss Frostproof”,89, of Babson Park, Florida passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at daughter’s residence. Heaven welcomes a musical angel.

She was born May 7, 1925 in Tampa, Florida to the late John William and Nora June (Mullin) Truitt, a Frostproof pioneer family. She was a gifted pianist, who played only by ear. June was the Director of the Frostproof Historical Society for many years. Her family, music, and Frostproof history were her life. She was a cradle roll member of the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof where she played the piano.

June was preceded in death by her husband, William August Felt in 1999, whom she had loved since elementary school.

Survivors include her daughters, July Crow and husband Jerry of Alabama, April Felt of Alabama, May Swygert and husband Paul of Babson Park, September McDuffie of Babson Park, March Goolsby and husband Guy of Lake Wales; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:30 pm until the funeral service at 3:30 pm Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Smith officiating. Interment will be held at the Silver Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Frostproof or the Frostproof Historical Museum.
