Willie C. Britt

Willie C. Britt of Lake Wales passed away July 21, 2010 at the Lake Wales Medical Center. He was 89.

He was born August 15, 1920 in Aspen, GA to the late Walter C. & Lois Britt; he came here from Ashburn, GA in 1945. He was a retired self-employed carpenter and a truck driver for Citrus World. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed dancing and had a produce stand.

Willie was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Britt. Survivors include his wife, Shirley A. Britt; daughters, Elaine Tucker (husband, Elmer) of Winter Haven and Lucretia Britt of Lake Wales; son, Stanley W. Britt (wife, Ann) of Lake Wales; 6 step-children; sisters, Wilma Sumner of Alba, AL, Jeneatte Wyrosdick of Alba, AL and Carolyn New of Ocoee; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 23, 2010 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
