LAKE WALES -- Mr. William J. Riehl Jr. of Lake Wales died of heart failure Sunday (July 23, 2006) at Lucerne Hospital in Orlando. He was 89.

Born in New York City on Dec. 31, 1916, he came to Lake Wales from Yonkers, N.Y., in 1975. He worked in the banking industry in New York. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Exchange Club in Yonkers. He was a member of Golfview Baptist Church in Lake Wales.

Mr. Riehl was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Riehl. He is survived by his sister, Elsie Riehl LaCavalla, Bronx, N.Y.
