William Grady Pierson

William Grady Pierson of Lake Wales passed away Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Brandywyne Health Care in Winter Haven.

He was born December 13, 1926 in Bibb County, AL to the late Otis E. & Arie Pierson; and he came here from West Blocton, AL in 1949. He was retired from the Carpenters Local 2217 Union, attended the Lake Wales Church of Christ and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and Air Force. He was a former member of the American Legion and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ann Pierson; sons, Wayne Pierson and wife, April of Winter Haven, Ray Pierson and wife, Linda of Stark and Tim Pierson and wife, Page of Dade City; brother, Thomas Pierson of Cottondale, AL; sister, Fay Shelby of Tuscaloosa, AL; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Minister John Guzzetta officiating.
