LAKE WALES -- Mr. William L. "Bill" Owens of Lake Wales died Wednesday (Feb. 15, 2006) at home. The cause of death is pending autopsy results. He was 40.

Born in Bartow on Aug. 26, 1965, he was a lifelong resident. He was a high rise building construction foreman and formerly a Caloosa Lake volunteer firefighter. He attended New Harvest Worship Center and Burns Avenue First Assembly of God.

Mr. Owens is survived by his daughters, Joycie Owens, Marcie Owens, both of Lake Wales; son, Troy William Owens, Lake Wales; father, Lee Lawrence, Lake Wales; sisters, Alice Marie Owens, Navar, Mary Elizabeth Gantt, Ocala, Susan Lorraine French, Regena DeeannaLee Babington, both of Lake Wales; former wife, Vivian Yates, Lake Wales.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Lake Wales Cemetery.
