William Anderson McCarty Jr., 84

William McCarty of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021.

He was born on February 18, 1937, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William and Bess McCarty.

William was a field supervisor in the water management industry at South Florida Water Management. He was also a former City of Lake Wales Street Department employee.

He enjoyed volunteering at Kissimmee State Park and was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting.

William is survived by his wife of 53 years Carol McCarty of Lake Wales and brother John McCarty of Barnsville, Georgia; nieces Tracy McDonough of Lake Wales; and Kathy Faulkner and husband Tim of Cuttingsvile, VT; nephews Kyle Colburn of Roseland, FL, Todd McCarty of Barnsville Georgia, and Doug McCarty of Boynton Beach, FL.  William also had several great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Contributions can be made to the American Heart Association.
