William F. Leavy, Sr., 88

William Francis Leavy of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Health Central Hospice House in Ocoee, Florida.

He was born June 8, 1936 in Fairfield County, Connecticut to the late William and Anna Leavy. William was a retired Deputy Commissioner for the New York State Department of Health who also served with the United States Air Force from 1954 until 1958. He also proudly served as an Adjunct Professor of Public Health with the University at Albany from 1993 to 2004.

William is survived by his wife, Eleanor Leavy; daughter, Veronica Leary; sons, James Leavy (Vivian Owen), Allan John Leavy, and William Leavy, Jr.; brother, Richard Leavy (Barbara); and grandson, Allan John Leavy, Jr.
