William W. Lasseter

William W. “Bill” Lasseter passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at his residence in Lake Wales.

He was born October 31, 1943 in Lake Wales to the late L.T. & Evie (Knowles) Lasseter. He retired in 1995 from G.T.E. as a cable splicer/facility maintainer and was of the Protestant faith. He was a veteran of Viet Nam, serving in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. Following his retirement he became a self-employed subcontractor. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed being in the woods with his family and grandkids. He also enjoyed fishing and was a Gator fan. Bill will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret J. Lasseter; son, Jerry Lasseter (Buffie) of Winter Haven; sisters, Margie Fulghum of Maggie Valley, NC and Catherine Cooper of Lakeland; brother, Mike Lasseter of Babson Park; two grandchildren, Hunter Gage and Saylor Lee.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, February 02, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 03, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
