William Ledon "Bill" Lacher

William Bill Lacher, 78, of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born March 18, 1930 in Tampa to the late Harry & Doris (Newton) Lacher; he came to Lake Wales in 1992 from Wildwood, FL. He was a retired line foreman for Florida Power Corp. and a member of the First Baptist Church in Lake Wales. He enjoyed playing golf, his McDonald’s coffee group, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Marie M. Lacher; children, Gale Hatcher, her husband Jeff, of West Virginia, William Lacher Jr. of Salem, WV, Charlotte Cannon, her husband Donald, of Mulberry, and Nancy Turnquist, her husband Lee, of Lake Wales; grandchildren, Stormy, Victor, Kelly, Bobby, Brian, Ann, Laura and Peter; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at the Lake Wales Cemetery with Rev. Barry Hooten officiating. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Lake Wales Care Center.
