LAKE WALES -- Mr. William Mark Kersey of Lake Wales died of heart failure Wednesday (March 29, 2006) at Lake Wales Medical Center. He was 86.

Born June 17, 1919, in Lake Garfield, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was the owner/operator of Kersey's Nursery. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He attended Florida Southern College. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Mr. Kersey is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jean E. Kersey; daughter, Susan C. Peeples, Lake Wales; sons, Mark S. Kersey and William Kagan Kersey, both of Lake Wales; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
