William Harris Henderson, III

William “Bill” Harris Henderson, III passed away on September 14, 2026, at AdventHealth Lake Wales. He was born on July 27, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as an electrician for Haworth in Holland, Michigan. In 2009, he moved to Lake Wales from Zeeland, Michigan and made his home there.

He enjoyed the things that brought him both comfort and happiness. He loved boating and spending time with friends and family. He also took great interest in collecting beer mirrors, beer steins, and nautical memorabilia. Among the projects he enjoyed was building a Lego lighthouse, a pastime that reflected both his patience and his love of nautical themes.

Bill will be remembered with love by his family. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Vanhuis and Amanda “Mandi” Jeffrey and her husband, Brent, of Six Lakes, Michigan; his son, Kevin Henderson of Greenville, Michigan; and his companion, Patricia Doane "Baby Cakes". He is also survived by his father, William H. “Bill” Henderson, Jr. of Lake Wales; his sister, Kathy May and her partner, John Will, of Lake Wales; and his brother, Tim Henderson and his wife, Mary, of Lake Wales.

He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Syerra Keating and husband Forrest, Austin Prentice, Kaden Vanhuis, Ella Vanhuis, Kaya Henderson, Aiden Jeffrey, Braelyn Jeffrey, Taylen Henderson, and Allerah Henderson, who were an important part of his family and life.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Henderson; his daughter, Tammy Dillon; and his brother, David Wayne Henderson.

Bill will be remembered for his work, his service to his country, his enjoyment of the water, and the time he shared with family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Camp Mack.
