William C. “Bill” Evans, 83

William C. “Bill” Evans of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at the Winter Haven Hospital.

He was born December 12, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Charles and Marie Evans. He has been a resident of Lake Wales for 12 years, moving here from Mesa, Arizona. Bill was a retired Quality Control Engineer for General Dynamics in Michigan. He was a volunteer at Bok Tower Gardens, and was a Citizens Assistance Patrol for the Polk County Sheriff Office. He enjoyed hiking, traveling, reading, and wood working.

Bill is survived by his wife of 6 years, Jeanne Evans; daughters, Lisa Evans of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Sue Thomas of Maricopa, Arizona, and Erika Novasel of Erie, Pennsylvania; sons, Brent Evans and wife Linda of Tempe, Arizona, Shawn Evans and wife Christine of Cleveland, Ohio; step-sons, Damon Hinkel of Lexington, Massachusetts, David Johnson of Detroit, Michigan, Shawn Johnson of Detroit, Michigan, and Kevin Johnson of Detroit, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
