WILLARD G. HALE, 80 CPA/STATE AUDITOR

Willard G. Hale of Winter Haven, FL went to his heavenly reward on Sunday, May 31, 2009.

Willard was born in an employee house located in what is now the parking lot for Bok Tower Gardens near Lake Wales, FL. He served as an audit specialist in the U.S. Army from 1948-1955 stationed in Fort Jackson, Fort Lawton, Japan, Philippines, Okinawa, Fort Sam Houston, Fort Hood, Fort Polk and downtown Houston. He worked the last 30 years before his retirement as an auditor for the Florida Auditor General's Office. He loved hunting, fishing, cowboy movies and TV drama programs; and of course, all of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 24 years, Beatriz Hale; a son, Bedford J; two step-sons, Vincent and Leonel Perez; his parents, Bedford H. and Mary Lee Hale; a sister, Dorothy; two brothers, Aubrey & O.D.; a grandson, Christopher; two nephews, Joel and William; a niece, Hope; and a great-niece, Gabriel.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Georgina Hale; a daughter, Mary Hale and son-in-law Alan Aghan of Orlando; a step-daughter, Gina and son-in-law Frank Cuozzo of New Jersey; daughter-in-law, Toni Ann Marchese of New York; five grandchildren, Nicole, engaged to Alphonse Strada, and Anthony Cuozzo, Danielle, Tiffany and Mariah DePeralta; a sister, Lillie Collins of Vero Beach; a nephew, Solon; five nieces, Alma, Camilla, Rachel, Toni and Brenda; and many great and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 9:00 PM, Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. The funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
