Willa Dean Campbell, a dedicated teacher and active community member, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026, at The Residence Club at Seminole. She was born on April 27, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois.

Willa devoted much of her life to education, inspiring many through her work as a teacher. Beyond her career, she was deeply involved in community activities. She volunteered her time and energy with several organizations including the Lake Wales Arts Center, the Art Cottage of Winter Haven, the Frostproof Art League, and the Lake Wales Care Center. Her passion for the arts and service was evident in her generous support of these groups. She was also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Wales, where she shared her faith and friendship with many.

Willa is survived by her daughter, Dianna Atkinson, and her husband Jim of Gulfport, FL; her son, Ronald Campbell, and his wife Sue of Babson Park, FL; her brother, Leroy Place, and his wife Gwen of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and three grandchildren: Kris Atkinson and his wife Angela of Camas,Washington; Mackenzie Campbell of Tampa, FL; and Madison Campbell of Port St. Lucie, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Gene" Campbell, and her parents, Victor and Mellie Place.

A memorial service will be scheduled for later this year. Memorial contributions can be sent to Lake Wales Care Center, 140 E.
