NICK MURDOCK, 72

Nick Murdock of Lakeland passed away Monday, September 3, 2012 at the Lakeland Hills Center.

He was born September 3, 1940 in Auburn, NY to the late Paul T. & Elizabeth (Hampson) Murdock; he lived in Lake Wales from 1998 until moving to Lakeland in 2010. He was a retired owner/operator and of the Baptist faith.

Nick was preceded in death by his wife, Edres M. Murdock in 1998. Survivors include his fiancé, Nancy Dunkle of Lakeland; step-daughters, Edith Morrill of West Palm Beach, Judy Hilton of Helotes, TX, Ruth Robson of Ohio, Cathy McDonald of Florida and Amanda Stawicki of Ohio; step-sons, Randy Baggett of Lake Hills, TX, Thomas Baggett of Texas, Jerry Martin of Ohio and Jeremiah Martin of Lakeland; sister, Ann Geurhart of Florida; brothers, David Hampson of Knoxville, TN and Paul Murdock of West Palm Beach; 26 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 am Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 am Friday at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
