Wesley Wayne Lawson

Wesley Wayne Lawson of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the his residence from complications of Cerebral Palsy.

He was born December 30, 1970 in Tampa, FL and came to Lake Wales 1 1/2 years ago. He was of the Baptist faith, and competed in Special Olympics. He enjoyed music and dancing with his wheelchair, playing the harmonica, wrestling, school buses, and bowling.

Wesley was preceded in death by his step-father, Joe Watts. Survivors include his father, Virgil J. Lawson and wife Cathy of Gainesville, FL; mother, Vernetta Lawson and step-dad Bill Thress of Lake Wales; sister, Marcey Porohnavi and husband Rob of Georgetown, DE; brother, Rodney J. Lawson of Lake Wales; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Lake Wales, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM. Interment will follow on Friday in Cairo, GA.
