Waylon Lee Martin, 85

Waylon L. Martin of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at his residence.

He was born December 31, 1931 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida to the late Calvin Lee and Louiza (McLendon) Martin. He has been a resident of the area since 1988 coming from New Jersey.  He was retired from the United States Army serving in Viet Nam. After retiring from the Military, he worked at the Browns Mills Post Office in New Jersey. Waylon was a member of the DAV, was awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and was a member of the 82 ^nd Airborne.

He is preceded in death by his wife Fumino Martin (2008).

He is survived by his daughter Cheryl F. Ross of Hammonton, New Jersey, sons Waylon Leon Martin and wife Danette of Apopka, FL, Richard Martin and wife Deborah of Christiansburg, VA, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 10:00- 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home.
