LAKELAND--Warren Waller, 88, of Lakeland died Monday, July 23, 2007 at the Highlands Lake Center in Lakeland.

Born September 22, 1918 in Brookhaven, Mississippi; he has been a resident of the area since 1954 before moving to Lakeland 4 years ago. He was retired from Cain’s Auto Parts and was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Lakeland. He was also active in the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales and a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Army Air Corp. He was a former 3 year term mayor of Lake Wales, a 12 year city commission, a member of the Lake Wales Masonic Lodge and was its oldest living past master receiving a 50 year pin. He also enjoyed golfing, vegetable gardening and family time.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Robbie Waller of Lakeland; daughters, Rhonda Stone of Brownwood, Texas; Becky Marsella of Lakeland; sons, Bob Waller of Stafford, Virginia; David Waller of Lakeland; brothers, Louie Waller of Valdosta, Georgia; Paul Waller of Memphis, Tennessee; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church of Lake Wales with Rev. Leo Lacy officiating. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Hope Community, 24 Cathedral Place, Suite 307, St. Augustine, Florida 32084.
