Warren Leroy Polston

Warren Leroy Polston, 79 of Lake Wales passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born February 16, 1935 in Winter Haven, Florida to the late Warren A. and Margaret M. (Parker) Polston and has been a resident of the area for 52 years moving here from Winter Haven. He was the Owner Operator of Wales Cooling and Heating and also retired from Polk County School Board as and HVAC Technician. Leroy was highly active at Lake Wales Little League by helping to start the girls softball league along with being a dedicated umpire, he was a member of the Lake Wales High School Booster Club, Lake Wales Little Theater, former citizen of the year in Lake Wales 1984. He enjoyed to bird hunt, woodworking and loved everything to do with his grandchildren including any sport they were involved in. Polston field was named after him because he was instrumental in adding girls softball to the program. He was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Pearl Polston, Daughter, Cynthia Diane Weeks and husband Webb of Winter Haven; sons, Michael O. Polston and wife Rita K. of Lake Wales, Antony D. Polston and wife Cindy of Lake Wales, Jerome K. Polston and wife Malinee of Lake Wales; 7 grandchildren, Dawn M. Cooper, Andrea L. Groves, Sarah Kehayias, Joshua A. Polston, Nicholas A. Polston, Cody A. Polston and Jacob W.B. Polston; 4 great grandchildren

Celebration of Life service will be held 5:30 PM Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lake Wales Little League or the Lake Wales High School Booster Club.
