Wallace Tervin

Wallace Tervin passed away on December 23, 2013. Preceded by his wife Roberta" Bobbie" Tervin. Wallace is survived by 5 sons and 3 daughter in-laws. Wallace R. Tervin and wife Betsey of Bradenton Fl., Roger W. Tervin and wife Kaprecia of Pocola Ok., David L. Tervin and wife Leslie of Lakeland Fl., Jimmy Hurst of Clearwater Fl. and Tim Hurst of Clearwater Fl.; 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. He was born in Bradenton Florida 04/12/31 to Wallace and Deleon Tervin.

He went into the Army in 1948 and retired as LT. Col. in 1974. After retirement he returned back to Bradenton, FL. where he began a carrier in Real Estate. He continued this career for 12 years. After he retired from Real Estate he dedicated 3 years to Sahib Temple in Sarasota, FL. and worked his way to becoming Potentate for the Temple. In 1990 he had a calling to become a Minister. He accepted this calling with all his heart. He was pastor over the Fort Ogden and the Nocatee United Methodist Churches. In 1995 he retired to Lake Wales, FL. and started another career preaching at the First United Methodist Church in Indian Lake Estates, FL.

Wallace went by many titles in his life, LT. Col., Reverend, Husband, Father, Grandad, and Great Grandad. He strived at each of these with the love and determination to be the best at all. He succeeded! Wallace was a mentor and leader to everyone.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church of Indian Lake Estates with The Rev. Steven Knitter officiating.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Cornerstone Hospice or Shriners Hospital in Tampa.
