Wade B. Jakeway

Dr. Wade Burdick Jakeway 94 of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his residence.

Wade was born June 2, 1919 in Laingsburg, Michigan to the late George A. and Golda E. (Neal) Jakeway and has been a resident of the area since 1971 moving here from Los Angeles, Ca. He was a retired clergyman and college professor. He was the former Columnist for Lake Wales Daily Highlander, American Representative of Haiti Christian University, Staley Foundation Distinguished Lecturer. He served as an interim pastor for churches all over the state of Florida and in recent years was a member of High Point Church in Lake Wales.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty L. Jakeway, Son, Ron W. Jakeway of Orlando, FL; brother, Bob Jakeway of Lansing, MI.

Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, November 9, 2013 at High Pointe Church in Lake Wales.
