Vito Russo of Winter Haven passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at his residence.

He was born May 28, 1948 in Staten Island, New York to the late Vincent and Nancy Russo; he moved to Winter Haven in 2009. Vito was a retired supervisor for King’s County Hospital and was of the Catholic faith. He was the President of Lady of Mount Carmel Society-Rosebank. Vito was an avid gardener and enjoyed shooting at rifle ranges; he was an all-around handyman. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and Fox News. Vito

Vito was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Nancy Russo; daughter, Melissa Russo; and brother, Joseph Douchet. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carol Russo; son, Joseph Russo and wife Agnes of Staten Island, New York; sisters, Bunnie Defilippo of New Jersey and Tina Gochnor of New Yok; brother, Bobby Russo of North Carolina and John Russo of Queens, New York; and grandchildren, Julian Russo and Trinity Russo.

A visitation and prayer service will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
