Virginia Kathryn Thornton passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at her residence in Frostproof.
She was born November 11, 1939 in Quilan, MO; she came here 25 years ago from Illinois. She was a homemaker and a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Thornton; mother & step-father, Alice & Ralph Stone; son, Jeff Emery; and grandson, Kevin Waibel. Survivors include her children, Cary Emery of Illinois, Dean Emery of Lake Wales, Loral Emery-Lamere of Illinois, Debra Powell of South Dakota and Ramona Waibel of Lakeland; step-children, April Yankwitt of Delaware, Ava Maddox of Sebring, Adrian Kopalovich of Pennsylvania, Althea Bates of Winter Haven and Patty Gonzales of Frostproof; two step-brothers, three step-sisters, thirty grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 23, 2009 at the family's residence, 441 Stanley Avenue, Frostproof.
