Virginia Hammond Baxter, 87

Virginia passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to complications of a stroke. She was born December 10, 1926, to the late Robert and Bertha (Moore) Hammond in Parrish, Florida. She has been a lifelong resident of the area and was a Private Caregiver, she loved to sew and made children’s clothing. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and shopping. She was of the Protestant Faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lee Marvel, daughters Gina Reynolds, Pam Marvel, brothers Charlie Hammond and Lucky Hammond.

Survivors include her daughters Sandy Brandt of Lake Wales, FL, Karen Lewis of Lake Wales, FL, Beth Bryant of Lake Wales, FL, Jennifer Keefer and husband Jay of Winter Haven, FL, Kim Rodda and husband Thomas of Lake Wales, FL, sons Mickey Marvel and wife Darlene of Elba, AL, John Marvel and wife Treama of Lake Wales, FL, sisters Louise Whittle of Lake Wales, FL, Florence Bedsaul of Dublin, VA, 39 Grandchildren, 54 Great-Grandchildren and 14 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 10:00-11:00 AM Monday, October 6, 2014, with service at 11:00 AM at Marion Nelson Funeral Home with John Marvel and Jayson Keefer officiating. Interment will be at Lake Wales Cemetery.
