LAKE WALES--Vincent Thomas Carter, 66, of Lake Wales died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at his residence.

Born March 05, 1941 in Asheville, NC; he came to the area from Oviedo in 1981. He was the owner/operator of Carter’s Nursery and of the Baptist faith. He was a graduate from Ranger school; retired from the Department of Forestry, a member of the Florida nursery Grower’s Association and the NRA.

Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara K. Carter in 2006; daughter, Allison Marie Kirk, son-in-law, Steve Kirk and granddaughter, Stephanie Kirk. Survivors include his son, Vincent V. Carter & daughter-in-law, Sidney Carter of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Simon and Elisabeth Carter and brother, Willie E. Carter of Asheville, NC; and many extended family members.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 PM, Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Burial will take place at Drexel Memorial Park in Drexel, NC. Marion Nelson Funeral Home
