Vernon Richard Barnes Sr., 72

Vernon Richard Barnes of Lake Wales, Florida passed away on January 27, 2022.

He was born January 11, 1950, in Manilla, AR to the late Charlie and Bertha Barnes. He was a truck driver for Velda Farms and Florida Food Tankers.  Vernon was a Godly man who loved going to church, watching football, and enjoyed watching the LW Highlanders play. Also, he enjoyed fishing, and most of all loved playing with his grandchildren.

Vernon is preceded in death by his wife Carol Anne Barnes in 2003; son Vernon Richard “Ricky” Barnes Jr.; his brothers Jerry Barnes, Alan Herrod, Tommy Joe Barnes, Charles Edward Barnes, Glen Barnes, Everett “Tuffy” Barnes, Charlie Gene Barnes; sisters Minnie Stuart, Joyce Rice, and Sheila Ann Barnes. Vernon is survived by his son Jermie Barnes and fiancé Amy Greco of Lake Wales; Sister-in-law Silkie Herrod; and brothers Roy Glenn Barnes of Hamilton, Alabama, Lynn Barnes, and wife Mildred of Tennessee., and several nieces and nephews.
