Vernie Lee Williams of Babson Park passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at her residence.

Born October 21, 1918 in Williston, FL; she has been a lifelong resident of Florida. During World War II she was a bookkeeper for Morrison’s Restaurant in Tampa. Following World War II, she married Woodrow A. Williams and came to this area. She was a homemaker; enjoyed the outdoors and cooking; was a loving mother and grandmother; and was of the Baptist faith.

Vernie was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow Williams in 1993. Survivors include her son, Rodney Williams of Babson Park; brother, James Demark of Louisville, KY; sister, Florrie Greene of Brandon, FL; four grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the Lake Wales Cemetery. For those who wish, donations may be sent to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823.
