NALCREST -- Mr. Vern Hetherington of Nalcrest died of heart failure Friday (April 21, 2006) at Good Shepherd Hospice, Auburndale. He was 75.

Born June 7, 1930, in Flint, Mich., Mr. Hetherington moved to Nalcrest from there in 1989. He was an Army veteran and served in Korea. He worked as a mail carrier for the post office in Flint. He attended Trinity Baptist Church. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 256, Flint.

Mr. Hetherington is survived by his wife, Luella Hetherington; daughters, Yvonne Alger, Flint, Debra Hoose, Fenton, Mich.; sons, Gary Hetherington, Kissimmee, Dwayne Hetherington, Cocoanut Grove; sister, Joan Williams, Carson City, Nev.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund.
