Verena K Barnes

Verena K. Barnes, 95 of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at The Grove Center.

She was born August 2, 1919, in Frostproof, Florida, to the late Joel Daniel Moser and Mary Burleigh Simmons; and she has been a lifelong resident of Lake Wales. She was employed by Citrus World and a charter member of First Assembly of God and a charter member of Calvary Temple.

Verena was preceded in death by her husband, Orin Barnes; and sons, Bradford Brown and Danny Brown.

Survivors include her daughters, Mabel Rhodes of Lake Wales and Sally Perry of Rockville, Virginia and sister, Mary Alligood of Lake Wales; 2 grandchildren, Robert (Gennabea) Rhodes of Frostproof, Melodie (Jade) Jones of Dawsonville, GA; and 3 great-grandchildren Pheniox Rhodes, Kassidy Jones and Slate Jones.

A memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Rev. Fred Richards officiating.
