Vera Griffin

Vera Griffin, 94 of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Grace Health Care.

She was born January 21, 1920 in Cordele, Georgia to the late Charles and Iola (Banks) Herndon and has been a resident of the area for 70 years coming from Georgia. She was a retired Manager for Hallmark Gift Shop. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and Keenagers Adult Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Griffin; her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter Joann Wood of Lake Wales, 2 grandchildren, Debi Summerlin (Pete) of Frostproof, Richard Martin (Paula) of Lake Wales, 4 great-grandchildren, 7 great- great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Interment will be held at the Lake Wales Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time.
