Vera C. Davis of Lake Wales passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.

She was born September 5, 1949, in Arab, Alabama to the late Charles and Rilla Waddle. Vera was a medical foster parent. She liked to spend her time fishing, gardening, working with plants, and making people laugh. Vera was in a bowling league and enjoyed taking care of babies. She always loved giving her sister a hard time.

Vera is survived by her sister, Carolyn Chauvin and husband Michael of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; brother, Franklin Dobbs of Pell City, Alabama; cousins, Janet Partain and husband Rick of Babson Park, and Lelton Knight and wife Ann of Georgia; uncle, James Waddle, and wife Donna of Bonifay; and niece, Wanda Hancock of Lake Wales.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024 at New Harvest Worship Center in Lake Wales with Rev. Steve Livingston officiating.
