Vera K. Alborn, 92

Vera K. Alborn of Lake Wales passed away Monday, January 25, 2021 at Advent Health Lake Wales.

She was born June 10, 1928 in Findley, Ohio to the late Forest and Sarah Light; she moved to Lake Wales from Akron, Ohio in 1988. Vera was a homemaker and was a member of Waverly Baptist Church for over 20 years. She helped her husband operate holiday park for a short period of time, and enjoyed spending time with and taking care of her family.

Vera was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Wagner. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Philip C. Alborn; daughters, Pamela A. Alborn of Auburndale, Priscilla K. Carter of Clinton, Ohio, and Peggy Greer (Danny) of Canton, Ohio; sons, Philip J. Alborn (Charlotte) of Tallahassee; 9 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Saturday, January 30, 2021 until the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Interment will follow at Rolling Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Waverly Baptist Church (706 South Orange Avenue, Waverly, Florida 33877).
