Velva A. Amburgey, 72, of Lake Wales passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

Born May 23, 1935 in Logan, WV; she came here from Syracuse, OH in 1984. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She collected angel figurines; and enjoyed family times and watching gospel & spiritual channels of TV.

Velva was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela K. Amburgey. Survivors include her daughter, Marlene of West Virginia; sons; Danny Mills; Tommy Mills; Dave Amburgey; Tony Amburgey; Samuel Amburgey all of Lake Wales; sisters, Josephine Browning of Pomoroy, OH; Ellestine McDaniels of Landville, WV; and Geraldine Karnes of Lake Wales.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 1:45 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Lake Wales Cemetery.
