Velma Isabel Horrigan

Velma I. Horrigan of Lake Wales passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

She was born August 28, 1921 in Detroit, MI to the late Dewitt Clinton & Lillian Elvira Taylor; she came here from Kalamazoo, MI in 1979. She was a homemaker and of the Protestant faith. She was a former member of the Lake Wales Country Club and a current member of the Lake Wales Elks Lodge # 1974.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene R. Horrigan; and close friend, Pockets.

Survivors include her step-son, Edward Horrigan of Kalamazoo, MI; step-daughter-in-law, Becky Horrigan of Kalamazoo, MI; half-brother, Glen Kellog of New Mexico; loving caregivers, John & Debbie Elmendorf; and a very special friend, Pate.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 22, 2012 at the Elk’s Lodge #1974 (16905 Hwy 27, Lake Wales, FL 33853).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Elk’s Lodge #1974 (P.O. Box 1242, Lake Wales, FL 33859).
