Vanessa Ann Brooks, born on January 6, 1959, in Bartow, Florida, departed this world on January 11, 2026, at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

A devoted homemaker, Vanessa dedicated her life to nurturing her family and creating a warm, home where memories blossomed and joy was abundant. From her earliest days, Vanessa was a beacon of love, especially to her mother, with whom she shared an inseparable bond. She had a heart for thrift shopping, often uncovering hidden treasures that sparked joy. Vanessa found great joy in trying new foods and thrived during her favorite holiday of Thanksgiving where food was the center of attention.

Her faith served as a profound pillar in her life, anchored by her favorite Bible verses, Psalms 23 and Psalms 91. These verses spoke to her soul, providing comfort and guidance throughout her life.

She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her spirit forward: her daughter, Perisha Brooks and husband Alonza Butler of Kissimmee; her sons, Stanley Brooks and wife Anna of Winter Haven, and Shannon Brooks of Poinciana; her siblings, Darnell King of Winter Haven, Dolly King of Haines City, Mandy Lee of Haines City, Vera James and husband Bruce of August, Georgia, and Curtis King and wife Latoya of Dundee; along with six cherished grandchildren who were the light of her life.
