Ursula Grete Kobi, 91, of Indian Lake Estates, Florida passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at her residence.
She was born on May 26, 1924 in Germany to Erich and Else Friedrich and has been a resident since 1988 moving here from Lakewood, New Jersey. She was a retired private healthcare giver. Ursula enjoyed growing orchids and was a member of the former Indiana Lake Estates Garden Club, traveled the world and enjoyed photography. During WWII she was a nurse who gave aid to those in the Nazi concentration camps. In the late 1950’s, her and her family migrated to the Unites States via a sponsor, so in turn 35 years later, she sponsored a family from a refugee camp in Thailand and maintains a relationship until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Kobi in 2003.
She is survived by her Son, Bero (Jacqueline) Kobi of Manchester, NJ and brothers, Klaus Friedrich and Hans-Alfred Friedrich, both of Germany; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and her healthcare giver Donna Reichert.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Friday, October,2,2015 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales with Good Shepherd Hospice Chaplain Cecil Kent officiating.
