FROSTPROOF -- Mr. Travis C. Wilbanks of Frostproof died of heart failure Sunday (Oct. 23, 2005) at Lake Wales Medical Center. He was 81.

Born in Pontotoc, Miss., on Sept. 12, 1924, he came to Frostproof from Mississippi in 1949. He was a grove foreman for Keens Fruit. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Wilbanks is survived by his wife, Mauvaline Wilbanks; daughters, Janet Lee, Winter Haven, Brenda Danes, Frostproof; sons, Jerry Wilbanks, Michael L. Wilbanks, both of Frostproof; sisters, Ann Hood, Frostproof, Glenda Peacock, Martha Howell, both of Vero Beach; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
