Thomas C. Stebbins, 87

Tom Stebbins, 87 of Frostproof, Florida passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 due to heart failure while enjoying his favorite pastime, golfing with friends at Lily Lake Golf Course.

Tom, born February 20, 1927 in Fitchburg, Massachusetts was one of two sons and two daughters born to Thomas and Ethel Stebbins. He lived in Massachusetts and New Jersey before moving to Florida in 2000. Tom was a United States Navy veteran who served during World War II. He retired from the Lakewood Public School System in Lakewood, New Jersey where he was a high school history teacher, administrator and coach. He was a dedicated Red Sox fan to the end, loved to read any book possible. He was a wonderful grandfather and family man.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, Sisters Margaret and Mary, and Brother Edward. His daughter Patricia and her husband Allan, Grandchildren Leigh, Daniel, Alison and Daniel Gilbert, Scott and Matthew and 3 Great Grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof, FL from 3:00-5:00 PM. Friends and family are invited back to the home for a repast after the viewing.
