Thomas A. Polczynski, 79, of Lake Wales, Florida passed away Saturday, December 19, 2015 at the Lake Wales Medical Center. He was born on September 8, 1936 in Tarentum, Pennsylvania to the late Alexander and Agnes (Rutkowski) Polczynski and he has been a resident of this area for 16 years moving here from Freeport, Pennsylvania. He was retired after 40 years from Oberg Industries in Pittsburgh, Pa as the Vice President of Purchasing. Thomas loved his children and grandchildren, loved to play golf, enjoyed all sports but his favorite was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played in LWCC Men’s Golf League, was a member of the Elks Lodge, B.P.O.E., and really enjoyed his job. He had served as an player agent and volunteer for Freeport little league. He graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1954. He served on the water Authority of Buffalo Township in the late 1970’s. He served honorably in the US Navy aboard the USS Thetis Bay. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean A. Polczynski, daughter, Jodi Lynn Gamble of Delmont, PA; sons, Thomas A. Polczynski (Terry) of Pittsburgh, PA, Jeffrey Alan Polczynski (Sandy) of Charles town, W. VA ; brother, Joseph Palchinsky of Ada, OH, James Polczynski of Sarver, PA; sisters, Phyllis Tosatto of Ada, Ohio, Connie Valarik of Canal Fulton, OH, Peggy Zeolla of Grayson, GA; 5 grandchildren, Amber, Nicholle, Rachel, Kyle and Drew. 1 great grandson, Garren. Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell with full military honors. His grandson, Drew, will serve on the honor guard team.
