Thomas "Bob" Mccaughan

Thomas Earl "Bob" McCaughan of Babson Park passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center.

He was born May 26, 1930 in Louin, Mississippi to the late Robert Lee and Francis Elizabeth Hammonds Lee; he came here from Tampa in 1975. He was a retired electronic technician for the National Weather Service, served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and was a member of the Winter Haven Christian Church.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; 4 sisters, Leenay Gardner, Lonette Switzer, Ruby Yarbrough and Lillian Garlin; and 3 brothers, Alton, Howard and Raymond McCaughan. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Carol Lynn McCaughan; daughter, Corrine Dooley of Babson Park; son, Samuel Suppe of Brandon; sister, Annie Murl Perkins of Fort Worth, TX; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Funeral service will be held 11:00am, Friday, September 9, 2011 at the Winter Haven Christian Church.
