Bounthone Manokham

Bounthone Manokham, born on June 9, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy deeply cherished by his family and friends.

Throughout his long and rewarding career as a Lieutenant Governor, Bounthone touched countless lives. His compassion and tireless dedication made a meaningful impact on those in need, and his love for his family and country will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to know him. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an animal lover, an avid gardener, and enjoyed traveling. He was a true food connoisseur who spent his last days at Lao food markets. Above all, Bounthone cherished time spent with his grandkids, creating memories marked by warmth, laughter, and love.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Somchanh Manokham; his devoted daughters, Tiffani Manokham (Kenny Luy) of Bellflower, California, Molly Manokham of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Thammasack Manokham of Cortlandt Manor, New York; and his loving son, Khonekham Manokham of Connelly, Texas; as well as six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bounthanh and Dengthone Manokham; and son, Anousone Manokham.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
