Thomas “Tom” Grabbert, 81

Thomas “Tom” Grabbert of Indian Lake Estates passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024 at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

He was born April 17, 1943 in Putnam, Connecticut to the late Francis and Mary Grabbert; he moved to Indian Lake Estates from Rhode Island in 2010. Tom was a retired grinder supervisor for General Dynamics for 28 years, later in life he was the owner and operator of a small engine repair business for 17 years, and was a veteran of the United States National Guard. He had a love for tractors and anything with a motor in it. Tom liked nascar and was a yard sale enthusiast. He had a great sense of humor. Tom was an ordained minister and performed his grandsons wedding.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Grabbert in 2019; and sister, Carolyn Taber. He is survived by his daughter, Christina Spicer and companion Alan Papineau of Indian Lake Estates; sisters, Fran Underwood, Margie Mahoney, Sandra Hudson, and Janet Oakley; grandchildren, Joshua Cottrell of Winter Haven, and Ryan Cottrell and wife, Taylor of Lake Wales; and great-grandchild, Lorelai Cottrell, and his little buddy “Gizmo”.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales.
