Theresa Lynn Summers, 63

Theresa Lynn Summers of Frostproof passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Somers Hospice House in Sebring.

She was born January 5, 1960 in Avon Park to the late Franklin and Carolyn Scruggs; she has been a lifelong resident of the area. Theresa enjoyed fishing, reading, decorating, and watching movies. She was very artistic and could often be found drawing. She loved her family over all else, especially her children and grandchildren.

Theresa is survived by her daughter, Amanda “Mandi” Thornton of Frostproof; sons, Charles “Chuck” Thornton, Jr. (Kati) of Frostproof, and Cliston “Boo” Thornton (Tabitha Worley) of Odessa, Texas; brother, Dennis Scruggs of Avon Park; and seven grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Frostproof with Pastor John Essigmann officiating. Interment will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery.
