Theora W. Banks

Theora W. Banks, 87, of Indian Lake Estates, died of heart failure on Saturday, October 1, 2005, at the Groves Center.
A native of Baltimore, she came to the area in 1980 from Port Saint Lucie.

She was a retired secretary and bookkeeper for the state of Maryland Health Department. She was a member of the Lake Estates United Methodist Church, a former member of the Indian Lake Estates Garden Club, Women's Christian Fellowship and the church choir. She was a volunteer for the Lake Wales Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Banks, in 2000.

Survivors include two daughters, T. Joan Pleines of Village Green and Kathy Fisher of Ellicott City, Md.; a son, Charles Banks Jr. of Frostproof; a sister, Naoma Kemp of Leesburg; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home, Lake Wales.
