Thelma L. Halbert

Thelma L. Halbert of Frostproof passed away Thursday, June 7, 2012 at her residence.

She was born January 25, 1923 in Boone County, MO to the late Ora & Abbie (Griffin) Ankrom; she moved to Frostproof from Lake of the Ozarks, MO in 1985. Thelma was retired from the University of Missouri, a longtime member of the Grandview Baptist Church in Centralia, MO and the First Baptist Church in Frostproof. She enjoyed singing in the choir, yard work and traveling.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond R. Halbert in 2009 and her son, Anthony "Tony" Halbert in 1995. Survivors include her son, Buddie J. Halbert and his wife, Relda of Tallahassee; a sister, Mary Grace Kircher of New Franklin, MO; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the funeral service at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Frostproof with Rev. Darrol Hood officiating. Interment will be held at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Columbia, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the First Baptist Church (96 West 'B' Street, Frostproof, FL 33843).
