Teodula Tolento

Teodula Tolento, a devoted member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales, passed away on February 3, 2026, at AdventHealth Lake Wales, under the care of Vitas Hospice. She was born on February 17, 1931, in Martindale, Texas.

Teodula moved to Lake Wales from Woodville, Ohio, in 1978, where she embraced her new community and continued to share her kind spirit with those around her. She was married to her loving husband, Alfred Tolento, for 74 years, and together they raised a family that brought joy and pride to her life.

Teodula is survived by her husband, Al Tolento; sons, Daniel Tolento (Lisa) of Lake Wales and Michael Tolento (Joey) of Lakeland; brother, Amado Garcia, Jr. of Burgoon, Ohio, sister, Angela Ramirez, also from Burgoon, Ohio; and grandchildren, Gabriella Tolento of Casselberry, and Nicholas Tolento of Gainesville.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Tolento, and her siblings: Joseph Garcia, Augustin Garcia, Micaela Garcia, Teresa Clinger, Marcela Hernandez, Susana Reyna, Willie Garcia, and Manuel Garcia. Teodula was the daughter of Amado Garcia and Esperanza Acosta, who have also passed on.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2026 at Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. Condolences can be sent to the family at www,marionnelsonfuneralhome.com.
