Taylor "Tate" Jones

Taylor "Tate" Jones of Avon Park passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at the Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring.

He was born November 29, 1936 in Kentucky to the late Gilbert & Edna Jones; he came to this area 22 years ago from Indiana. He was a drywall installer in Indiana; he did some grove work for Wardlaw and Dickerson and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing and was a Tampa Bay Bucs fan.

Tate was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa "Terry" Jones; a son, Darryell Jones; two brothers, Andy & John; and two sisters, Mattie Vicie. Survivors include his four daughters, Donna & Bobby Denney of Frostproof, Denise Choate of Highlands County, Jennifer Jones of Frostproof and Tiffany Jones of Frostproof; a son, Travis Jones of Frostproof; two sisters, Lula Mae Gibson of New Castle, IN and Lucy Bell of Florida; two brothers, Tommy Jones of New Castle, IN and Bobby Jones of New Castle, IN; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 AM, Friday, October 02, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Frostproof. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 02, 2009 at the Silver Hill Cemetery in Frostproof.
