Sylvia Lea "Kitty" Kitterman

January 28, 1918 — July 27, 2013

Sylvia Lea “Kitty” Kitterman of Babson Park passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 at her residence.

She was born January 28, 1918 in Switchback, WV to the late Asa David & Dolliva Ann Kitterman; and she has been a resident of Lake Wales since the 1970’s and moved to Babson Park in 1987. She was the owner/operator of Curley’s Chicken House in Elmira, NY and regularly attended the Golfview Baptist Church in Lake Wales. Art was her passion and she enjoyed painting, landscaping, reading and taking care of animals. She was a very generous person that was more concerned about others than herself. She also worked at The Flower Cupboard in Lake Wales with her sister Sue Viers for many years.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her daughter, Lea Larkin; sister, Sue Virginia Veirs and a brother, James Earl Kitterman. Survivors include her sister, Mary K. Weiss of Jackson, WY; grandson, Gregory George and wife, Marianne of Winter Haven; nieces, Carla Van Skaik, Jenny Eberhard, Pamela Schlegel and Paula Reid; and two great-grandchildren.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
