Sybil G. Thorne

Sybil G. Thorne of Lake Wales passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at the Winter Haven Health & Rehab Center.

She was born October 18, 1930 in Honea Path, SC to the late Perry C. & Annabelle (Davis) Guest; she came here in 1962 from Lakeland. She was a retired citrus grander for 26 years at LWCGA and of the Baptist faith. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Lake Wales.

Sybil was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Thorne and her son, James Vaughn. Survivors include her daughter, Geraldine Gunter of Lake Wales; sister, Lorraine Robinson of Williamston, SC; brother, Hanie Guest of Honea Path, SC; grandchildren, Brett C. Bailey (Rosa) of Lake Wales, Michael Gunter of Lake Wales and Robert Vaught (Kandi) of Winter Haven.

Local visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Saturday, July 18, 2009 at the Marion Nelson Funeral Home in Lake Wales. The funeral service and burial will take place in Honea Path, SC.
